What Magnets Are Used for Generator And Wind Power Equipment

Wind‑power generators mostly adopt high coercivity sintered neodymium magnet. Arc segment tile magnets are the mainstream shape, fitted to rotor surface for direct‑drive and semi‑direct‑drive wind turbines. For on‑shore wind projects, N42SH, N45SH grades are widely selected, resisting operating temperature up to 150℃. Off‑shore wind generators choose UH or EH grades to fight high temperature, salt spray and demagnetization risk.

Heavy duty and anti‑corrosion coating is required to achieve 20‑year service life. Small‑scale wind generators may use block NdFeB or ferrite magnet for cost control. Magnet tolerance and stability are critical for long‑term generator performance. Improper grade selection will cause partial demagnetization and lower power output.

As a professional magnet manufacturer, we supply custom arc‑segment and block neodymium magnets for wind‑power and generator projects. If you need technical support or project quotation, please feel free to contact our engineering team.
